Bird Feeders
Another Garden Safari innovation!
You don't even need a garden!
Want to get up close and personal to your wildlife? Live in a flat or apartment with no garden? No problem! Garden Safari camera-equipped bird feeders are the answer. Garden Safari bird feeders come equipped with two easy-to-refill hoppers so that you can feed two different types of food. The roof is sloped so that the feeding area stays dry, the seed bay is edged to prevent the seeds falling off and the landing platform has holes for drainage . As you would expect from Garden Safari, our feeders are made of solid wood, not cheap plywood. We supply them in bare, unpainted wood, or (optionally) varnished -although since the birds aren't nesting in them it doesn't matter if you give them a coat of non-toxic, environmentally-friendly woodstain. They measure a whopping 54cm x 19cm overall and are ideal for schools who want to run a project and see which foods attract which species. Our feeders are designed to be wall-mounted, and we provide the screws and rawplugs for them to be fitted.
Camera options for Bird feeders
We offer three basic choices of camera for our feeders:
- 5 Megapixel USB cameras - These high-resolution cameras plug into the USB port of any PC with a USB2.0 port (see minimum specification, below). The camera comes with a 30 foot (10 metre) cable. Note that because birds don't feed at night, this camera does not have night-vision capability.
- Wireless Cameras that plug into your TV/ Video - These use wireless technology to beam the video picture back to your TV or DVR/VCR, so you can watch and/or record the action from your living room. Note, however, that the wireless cameras do eat batteries, so we have supplied a mains adaptor to provide power to the camera.
- Wired Cameras that plug into your TV/ Video - These bring the video signal along cables to your TV or VCR/DVR. The same cables power the camera.
